Page & Palette is a third-generation family-owned bookstore located in downtown Fairhope, AL. For over 40 years, this independent bookstore has been a Fairhope landmark. They offer a wide assortment of merchandise from new and used books to art supplies, greeting cards and journals. The bookstore is a host to several unique events that book enthusiasts will love in addition to the more traditional book signings and book clubs.
What goes best with a book? How about some locally roasted coffee! Page & Palette also boasts their own coffee shop, Latte Da, where customers can enjoy a cup coffee or tea with a delicious pastry. Most importantly, the store has many special touches that have their customers keep coming back.
The quaint bookstore has an extensive selection of current best sellers, literary classics, young-adult and children’s books, and the top contemporary fiction and nonfiction titles. Page & Palette also has a used book department, Perused Pages, containing numerous books priced under $5! If you would like a book they don’t have, they will order it for you, even if it is out-of-print.
Page & Palette offer deals and programs that many other bookstores do not. For example, they will gift-wrap anything they sell for free, and most purchases qualify for their Frequent Buyer program. The program is free to join and for every $100 you spend, they’ll give you a $5 coupon!
Additionally, the store supports local schools and their students by offering a 15% discount for all required reading. They also support local book clubs by offering to order copies of the book club reads with a 15% discount. Those interested in learning the workings of a small business can take advantage of a variety of opportunities Page & Palette offers including job shadowing, earning credits for school, and volunteering to work behind the scenes at big author events.
This independent shop hosts a range of author events from up-and-coming, local names to celebrities. This month, authors Elaine Hussey and Harmon Snipes will visit for book signings. In November, Phil, Kay, Si and Korie Robertson from the popular TV series Duck Dynasty will visit for a Q&A session. Page & Palette also frequently has a unique event called Read It & Eat. For a small fee, participants get to interact with the chosen author, have lunch, and a fun-filled experience.
If you are in or near the heart of Fairhope, drop by Page & Palette to take advantage of all it has to offer. I promise you won’t be disappointed. If you aren’t lucky enough to be in the area, shop on their online store for new books and eBooks at www.pageandpalette.com.
